Ashley Tisdale Gets Nose Job For Health Reasons

High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale had a rhinoplasty procedure on Friday in Los Angeles, the actress confirms to PEOPLE exclusively."Growing up I always knew I had a deviated septum on the right side of my nose, which caused trouble breathing," a bandaged Tisdale told PEOPLE on Monday from her Los Angeles home. "The older I got, the worse it got. I went to get it checked out, and the doctor told me the septum was 80 percent deviated and that I had two small fractures on my nose."The recuperating 22-year-old adds: "I'm not feeling great today. It's uncomfortable and I hope this is the only time I ever have to go through something like this."Tisdale's mother, Lisa, was by her side during the five-hour procedure. Still, Tisdale says, every step of the way "I was completely scared. I wasn't looking forward to the surgery at all. I actually had trouble sleeping for a week before."
'My Fans Are Everything to Me'A role model for young girls, Tisdale says she's not an advocate for plastic surgery and wouldn't recommend it to anyone."I didn't do this because I believe in plastic surgery. I did this to help my health. I literally almost could not breathe out of the right side of my nose," says Tisdale, who's openly discussing the procedure because "I want my fans to know the truth. I'm not someone who is going to act like I had nothing done. I just want to be honest because my fans are everything to me."Tisdale is expected to fully recover by the time High School Musical 3 begins filming early next year.

With High School Musical 2: Extended Edition out on DVD Dec. 11 and the big-screen High School Musical 3 going into pre-production in Salt Lake City come April, what more could the East High Wildcats possibly want as the holidays approach? USA TODAY's Will Keck finds out.

Exciting News!

For the composure of millions of High School Musical fans around the world, the entire cast of the first and second High School Musical films including Vanessa Hudgens despite the controversy, are 100% confirmed for the third film. Vanessa assured us with this news herself at the DVD Premiere of HSM2. With what phrase? "We are ALL on board" Vanessa Hudgens said, giving the initial kick to all the High Musical School 3 rumors that said she would not be featured in the next film due to the Internet photos that were spread online but meant only for Zac Efron. But with all that finished, Disney has decided to put the problem behind them, and the movie's director already made the first meeting with the cast to confirm his participation in the next film. The song recordings will begin in January of 2008 and the plot will be centered around the East High boys applying to a college university. At the DVD premiere, some of the new film's plot ideas were stated by members of the cast. Ashley Tisdale wishes that Sharpay will become the prom or graduation queen, while Vanessa Hudgens stated that Gabriella will most likely suffer enough through all the commotion in these high school celebrations, especially with Sharpay and her intentions in mind! In addition, they took the time to explain how grateful the cast is for the immense opportunities that High School Musical has offered them. For Zac Efron, the Disney Channel Original Movie transformed his success, love, fame and growth as an actor. These are the reasons he has decided to reprise his role as Troy in the third film, but more importantly, because of the sum of money that was offered to him to reprise the role. So far his only hope for the film is that many will enjoy High School Musical 2 on DVD, which hopefully will bring enough surprises! The DVD, in stores December 11, 2007, includes never-before-seen outakes and additional scenes including a new musical number, karaoke, and step-by-step instruction on how to learn the dances of your favorite High School Musical 2 songs!

High School Musical 2 Pop-up Edtion was tonight. Some of the trivia shown included:

--> 500 lanterns were used for the Everyday Scene
--> The stage used in Everyday takes three hours to break apart and 10-12 hours to assemble!
--> When Ryan gives Sharpay a hug after receiving the Star Dazzle Award, the star glued on top of the award trophy breaks, but in the next shot is fixed once again!
--> Most scenes were filmed at night, including "You Are the Music In Me," the scene where Ryan and Chad celebrate after the "I Don't Dance face-off" and more...
--> Green dye is used to make the grass in front of East High look green during "What Time Is It?" Don't worry..its ecologically safe, but not so great for your shoes!
--> Sharpay uses 40 different kinds of lip gloss in HSM2, twice the amount used in HSM1
--> Ashley used 11 & 1/2 cans of hairspray for the golf scene with Troy to keep her hair in shape!
--> "You Are the Music In Me" was choreographed on spot and was originally called "Music's A Magical Thing"
--> For choreography, sets, etc. Sharpay's version of You Are the Music In Me had to be prepared from scratch in four days!
-->Most sounds in the movie were recorded in a studio first, and then added into the movie
--> "You Are the Music In Me" was Oleysa's first solo
--> Ryan & Kelsi both wear 13 hats in the film (Ryan wears 15 including outakes, and he wore eight in the first film)
--> Ashely's flower she wears in All For One is the same one she wore in Bop to the Top!
--> Sharpay's locker and convertible were not painted, but covered in pink vinyl!
--> The piano in Fabulous is 0ver 50 years old, and is the same one used in Everyday, which was painted white and then carried over to the set wet, because it took 36 hours to dry!
--> I Don't Dance was inspired by Gene Kelly, a wonderful choreographer who taught Frank Sinatra to dance using baseball moves!
